Banco Nacional de Investimento, S.A. was created on June 14, 2010 and is Mozambique’s development and investment bank, dedicated to financing projects focused on innovation and that contribute to the process of sustainable development of Mozambique through the promotion of its business sectors.
Banco Nacional de Investimento is a privileged interlocutor not only of Mozambican companies and international investors but also of national and international institutions responsible for providing financial instruments and products that support and bolster development.

SHAREHOLDER STRUCTURE
The Bank is 100% owned by the Mozambican State through Instituto de Gestão das Participações do Estado (IGEPE), with a share capital of MZN 2.2 Billion, as of 31 December 2016.
INSTITUTO DE GESTÃO DAS PARTICIPAÇÕES DO ESTADO (IGEPE)
Instituto de Gestão das Participações do Estado (IGEPE) – “State Shares Management Agency” – was created in December 2001, by Government Decree, with the main objective of managing the State’s financial holdings, acquired through the restructuring process of the State business sector. Currently, IGEPE holds equity in 148 companies.
IGEPE also participates, in the representation of the State, in the promotion and constitution of companies that involve public funds, creating incentives for business and strategic investment initiatives in the private sector.
